Our craft is about the combination of centuries-old Irish whiskey making techniques and five generations of French cognac blending and maturation expertise.
Lambay Single Malt is triple distilled malt whiskey, bourbon cask matured and finished in cognac casks close to the island’s shoreline housed in the Sea Cask Room.
Unique and exclusive, this Single Cask Strength expression of Lambay Whiskey Single Malt is a pure taste of island life and is the third addition to the current Lambay Whiskey portfolio.
Released exclusively as a cask program, a total of only 20 casks will be sold worldwide. All cognac casks used in the finish of this whiskey have been hand-selected by Camus Cellar Master, Mr. Patrick Léger. These casks are carried across the sea from the world-renowned cellars of Maison Camus France and placed in the bonded warehouse on Lambay Island.
Our maturation warehouse is located on Lambays’ western shoreline and offers perfect conditions for maritime maturation. Sea-spray, iodine, brine and the islands’ natural botanicals infuse the wood as the Single Malt matures. The casks offered in this program have been sleeping since the brand launched, therefore allowing all the environmental elements of several seasons to be absorbed into the wood.
Lambay Whiskey Company offers a high level of personalisation when purchasing this super-premium product.
Firstly, the customer places their enquiry and will receive 3 samples of Single Malt Single Cask Strength to sample, each has varying taste profile and ABV depending on their location within the maturation warehouse. A complete tasting profile is supplied with each sample and the cask number is recorded to show the exact location of the cask within the warehouse.
Secondly, the customer selects their chosen cask and the maturation process is ceased. Having reached maximum full cask strength intensity and aromatic concentration, this exceptional small-batch whiskey is then ready to be enjoyed. Rather than leave the cask on the island after purchase, the entire cask is bottled, labelled and sent to the customer for their full enjoyment.
Lastly, each bottle is recorded with a batch number on the label along with the signature of Master Blender Patrick Léger. The bottles each have their own neck tag to explain the unique factors that influence the cask taste profile within the bottle and all bottles are carefully packaged and supplied to the customer in a handcrafted wooden box. Customers can add their own personalization or logo on this special offering – perfect for the enthusiastic whiskey collector!
